    A series of FREE Sunday recreational rides for all ages taking you around some of Christchurch's interesting cycle routes, followed by refreshments at a nearby café. The guided rides are by Spokes Canterbury the local cycling advocacy group.

    About 25 people took part on this ride from Hagley Park to the Styx Mill Reserve. It utilised the Railway cycle path, and other quiet streets and paths.  A follow up note was sent to CCC with comments about issues along the route.

    Starting at the riverbank car park opposite Princess Margaret Hospital bus-stop.

    This ride will take a meandering tour down the Heathcote riverside from Cashmere to Opawa and back again. Along the way, you'll find out some interesting details about the area and experience a range of cycle facilities, good and not so good! Approximate riding time (including stops at features of interest): 2 hours.

    Starting at the Kibblewhite Reserve parking area next to the South Brighton (Bridge St) bridge.

    This ride will explore New Brighton and Bexley, and in particular the pathways along the lower Avon River. The route will also feature the Bexley wetlands and Anzac Drive reserve. Along the way, you'll experience a range of cycle facilities, good and not so good! Approximate riding time (including stops at features of interest): 2 hours.

    This ride will take us around the Shirley area, from the Avon River at the bottom to QEII Drive at the top. In between we'll visit Horseshoe Lake and a number of other reserves. Along the way, you'll experience a range of cycle facilities, good and not so good! Approximate riding time (including stops at features of interest): 2 hours.

    Just in time for the start of the varsity year, this ride will show you how to get from town out to Canterbury University campus at Ilam and back. Along the way we'll explore some of the swankier parts of Fendalton... Approximate riding time (including stops at features of interest): 2 hours.

    Nearly thirty people enjoyed a pleasant afternoon heading from town through Merivale and Papanui and back again. This ride involves travelling along a variety of pathways and quiet streets from town up to Redwood and back.

    A bumper crowd took part in a pleasant afternoon traversing the various paths and quiet streets of Charlesworth, Linwood, Woolston, and back to Ferrymead.
